INRAPE embodies the conviction that science, when put at the service of communities, becomes a powerful lever for transformation. For 25 years, we have worked tirelessly to ensure that every Comorian enjoys more productive agriculture, a more generous sea and a preserved environment for generations to come.
Our teams of researchers, present on the three islands, engage every day in a constant dialogue with farmers, fishermen and policymakers. Because the research we do only makes sense if it concretely transforms the realities on the ground.
I invite you to discover our institution, our programs and join this collective movement for sustainable development in the Comoros.
INRAPE is the national reference institution for scientific research applied to the fields of agriculture, fisheries and the environment in the Comoros.
Under the supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, our institute brings together more than 120 Comorian and international researchers, technicians and experts. Our mission is to produce rigorous scientific knowledge for sustainable development and food security.
WHEN TECHNOLOGY SERVES
Agricultural & Environmental Sciences
Four digital tools to identify species, diagnose crops, analyze agricultural areas and track environmental data in Comoros.
Recognition of fauna & flora
Identify a plant or animal from a photo. The module crosses the observed characteristics with scientific standards to propose the most likely species, useful in the field and in the classroom.
Launch the AppSick plants & remedies
Photograph an affected crop: the tool detects diseases and pests, then offers treatment options adapted to the Comorian agricultural context to act quickly and limit losses.
Launch the AppAnalysis of an agricultural area
Select a point on the map of Comoros to assess the climate, water and vegetation, then discover the most favorable crops for this area and the associated tips.
Launch the AppEnvironmental data
Consult and explore hydrographic, climate and environmental indicators to better understand the dynamics of the territory and support agricultural and scientific decisions.
Launch the AppINRAPE, Key Actor in the COVID-19 Response
Faced with the pandemic, INRAPE mobilized its laboratories and expertise to support the health authorities. Our teams ensured the capacities of PCR tests and epidemiological analyses across the three islands of the archipelago.
To strengthen the reliability and accessibility of the results, INRAPE has deployed adigital analytics management systemwhich has made it possible to streamline treatment in the laboratory, eliminate any risk of falsification of PCR test results thanks to secure digital traceability, and offer patients the possibility ofdownload their certificate directly from our website, without delay or travel.
Digitalization in the Trade Department
INRAPE takes a major step in its modernization with the complete dematerialization of import and export permits, as well as certificates of approval. No more tedious administrative procedures: everything is now done online, from any device.
Each operator has asecure personal spaceallowing him to submit his requests, to monitor in real time the progress of his file and toupload its official documentsas soon as they are validated, without moving.
Guarantor of Quality in your Plates
The protection of the population against the risks of food poisoning is at the heart of INRAPE's missions. Our teams of inspectors carry out regular and unannounced checks in restaurants, hotels, canteens and any catering establishment in the archipelago.
Using protocols aligned with theinternational standards of food hygiene(Codex Alimentarius and HACCP standards), INRAPE assesses the entire chain: storage conditions, food traceability, storage temperature, hygiene of the premises and staff practices.
These inspections make it possible to quickly identify potential risks and take preventive action. Certified establishments receive a quality label that certifies their compliance with health standards.
This helps to build consumer confidence and promote a culture of food hygiene excellence in the Comoros.
